Why Every Business Need Systems Now!

No matter how big or small your business is, it is important to build systems to ensure continuous and sustainable growth. The goal is to turn your vision into a profitable business so you will never have to work a day in your life, right? They say that when you love what you do, it never feels like work and I absolutely agree!

However, what they did not tell you is there will be parts of your business that you will not love to do but they are essential to keep the business moving.

The list of to-do's is growing - from research, answering customer e-mails, social media management, website maintenance, video editing, graphic designing, project management, calendar management and the list goes on. These are awesome problems! It only means that you are thriving and that the demand is growing for your business. However, there tasks is no way, shape or form near to your zone of genius.

You get stuck curating social media posts and taking care of e-mails instead of spending time working on your vision and spending time doing what you do best. You cannot take on new challenges or new clients as your hands are already full with all the administrative and project management tasks.

Think about it, if you are the CEO of the company who is charging say $100 an hour and you are taking care of customer e-mails for 3 hours a day, that is $300 multiplied to the number of business days - that is roughly $6000 for just taking care of e-mails! Now tell me, is that saving money for the business?

Since you are not operating on your zone of genius, what's next is burn out and nobody wants that!

That's why early on, it is ideal that you create systems, workflows and SOPs so when you're ready to hire and put someone else in charge of that role, she will be able to take that SOP and run with it! She will for sure hit the ground running and you will earn back the time that you use to spend on doing that task.

Here are some reasons why you need to setup systems in your business even if it's just you in the beginning:

  • You are in it to win it! Show up as the successful business owner that you are targeting to be in 10 years NOW! When you shift your mindset that you are going to be as successful as you target to be and you show up with that attitude and energy every day, it is almost a guarantee that you will be that! Therefore you need systems in place because that successful person ain't going to be researching data day in and out.

  • Humans need down time and vacation - yes, you too! For you to be able to do that, you need to have a team who makes sure that the business is running even when you are plugged off 100% and enjoying the heat in the bahamas!

  • You are not a genius in everything. It is a disservice not only to yourself but to the business as well when you perform tasks that are outside of your zone of genius especially when you can have someone who can do it for you and it is their zone of genius. Win-win right?

  • Learn your strengths and weaknesses. Focus growth on your strength and learn to delegate the tasks within your weaknesses. One of the best skill that you can learn at the infancy stage of your business is delegation. If you have the foundation setup solid, you cannot imagine how high you can soar and not worry to fail because you have built a solid backend and foundation from the ground up - that is worth everything!

  • Work hard and smart. You did not start this business to be stuck in your desk 12 hours a day doing mundane but very important tasks to grow your business - every little detail is important, we all know that! But this isn't just sustainable. This is not the vision, the vision is for you to do that awesome thing that you do best and what you spend your 12 hours on every day is just a part of it, not entirely the vision. Don't you want to more spend time taking coaching calls, creating content and just pouring your heart out in dreaming of how you can make the world a better place in your own magical way?

Your vision is the heart of the business and systems is composed of all the body parts that keeps the business alive and the vision flourish.

Don't let your vision die as soon as it takes off. Start your system today!
